Senior Sessions
Welcome!
You made it to senior year, and that deserves to be celebrated with photos that actually look like you. My goal for your session is simple: make sure you enjoy every minute of it and walk away with images you're genuinely obsessed with. No awkward posing, no stiff smiles, no photos that look like everyone else's. Just you, looking your best, having a good time.
Here's everything you need to know before your shoot.
Session Types
The Senior Story ($650)
More than just a photo, this is your story! A tried and true favorite with seniors and parents alike! In one hour, we'll explore up to three outfits, experiment with movement and styling, and give you the space to truly relax and have fun. The result? A full gallery of 20 images that feels like you: genuine, beautiful, and worth framing.
Want a little extra fun added to your senior session? If you want more images and a little more time, I can extend your session to an hour and a half, which allows for 26 images and probably gives you an entire outfit change if you're a pro! This option is $850. And if you decide you want all of the images in your gallery, I offer a discounted price per image.
Want to do a session now but also have a mini senior shoot in the Spring, once you know your plans? Adding on a mini Spring Session is $350. It’s 30 minutes and provides 10 images. don’t do mini sessions by themselves but I love adding them to an existing session because it gives you many more looks and so much more fun to look forward to!
Senior Besties ($1,000)
Because some moments are better with your person by your side. This one and a half hour session covers 2 seniors with up to 3 outfits each, 15 images each, plus shared bestie shots.
A 50% non-refundable retainer is due at booking to hold your date.
What to Expect
From the moment we start, my job is to make this feel easy. I'll guide your poses and movement so you're never standing there wondering what to do with your hands. We'll laugh, we'll try different things, and if something isn't working, we'll just move on and try something else. If there is a pose your dying to try, tell me! I want to create images that YOU know will make you happy!
After your session, I'll carefully select and edit your best images. You'll receive your gallery within a couple of weeks, ready to download, share, and print.

I'm based in Milton, and there are a couple of beautiful open greenspaces here that I love to shoot at, and they're completely free, open and green!. Downtown Alpharetta,Crabapple or even Woodstock give a cool urban vibe.
If you're looking for something a little different, I also work with several paid locations in Cumming and around town. These venues typically run between $100 and $180 per hour, and that fee will be added to your session package.
Have a spot already in mind that feels perfect for your session? If you bring the location, I'll give you a 10% discount on your session. Just let me know when we connect.

Since your session involves choosing a date, time, and location that all work together, booking happens directly with me rather than through an online scheduler. Once you have a general timeline in mind for when you'd like your session, reach out and we'll talk through location options. From there, I'll send you a couple of dates to choose from so we can lock everything in.
Already Booked a Session? Click here for my quick senior survey questionnaire! There are important questions for the Seniors to answer for me. It gives you lots of wardrobe tips, but in a nutshell….
-
This information is found on my Senior Survey and questionnaire, but here’s a small summary!
Outfits matter a lot. You'll be sitting, standing, spinning, maybe even lying down in a field somewhere, so test those outfits in real life, not just in front of the mirror. If it bunches, gapes, rides up, or makes you nervous, skip it. Girls, something to keep in mind: mini skirts or extra-short dresses can limit some poses. We sit down on the ground sometimes when the wardrobe allows for it, so consider this if all of your outfits are short. Boys, yes, shorts are fine and your favorite t-shirt is great, but it should not have any wrinkles!. Fitted clothes photograph better than baggy clothes, and I promise I'll make sure nothing clings where it shouldn't.
Also, when considering outfits, please bring at least one outfit with pockets. It’s true….pockets are gold. They give us so many relaxed, natural pose options, and they're perfect for playful moments and impromptu dance moves (yes, I said dance moves). Trust me on this one.

A musical instrument, sports equipment (lacrosse stick, soccer ball, baton), your letterman jacket, favorite boots, hats, or a t-shirt showing your future plans — these are all amazing additions to your shoot. Props bring out your personality, make the session unique, and the photos always turn out great. Don't be shy about it. You play the guitar or have a letterman jacket? Bring it on!

Many of our shooting locations don't have a restroom to change in, and the car is often parked far from where we're actually shooting. That means outfit changes may happen out in the open or behind a tree! Bring a towel for privacy (aka, mom with a superhero towel cape), and know that I've also purchased a small privacy tent to help with quick changes. Boys, this applies to you too! When you're selecting your outfits, think about how easy they'll be to change into on location.

Sessions are best without a full cheering squad. Moms are welcome and helpful, but a quieter vibe means more natural shots.
Boys often do best solo or with just mom. Girls typically do great with mom around since there's usually a need for a helping hand with wardrobe, touch-ups, and feedback.

Bring the props, the gear, the accessories -whatever makes the session feel like you. These are your memories, your story. And feel free to bring your favorite play list!
After you fill out your Senior Survey, I will be in touch within 2 business days. If you have any further questions please reach out at 404-386-8721 (text friendly!) or email me at rachel@rachelyatteauphotography.com.
FAQ

I edit all photos for lighting and overall aesthetic beauty. I also add skin, eye, teeth and brightening cosmetic edits to all photos based on the shoot.

For outdoor sessions, we'll keep an eye on the forecast together and make a call as your date approaches. If we need to reschedule due to weather, we'll find a new date that works.
-
Yes! Just keep in mind that family shots do take time away from your senior's session, so we would need to book the one and a half hour session at $850 to make sure your senior still gets the full hour they deserve. The family portion works as a quick mini session and includes 6 beautifully edited images.
-
Your edited gallery will be delivered within a couple of weeks of your session. You'll receive a link to a private online gallery where you can view, favorite, and download your images.

That is completely normal and extremely common, even among people who end up loving their photos. My whole approach is designed around making you feel at ease. By the time we're a few minutes in, most people forget to be nervous.
ONE LAST THING, MOMS
If you post any of your photos, I would love a tag!

Or a mention in one of your posts saying "Photos by @Rachel Yatteau Photography." That really helps me out a lot.
P.S. Moms, this one is just for you. You have cheered from the sidelines, driven to every practice, stayed up late, and shown up every single day. This senior session is a celebration of your kid, but it's also a little bit about you too. Before we wrap up, I would love to grab a quick, candid shot of you and your senior together. No posing pressure, no fuss –just a genuine moment between the two of you that you'll be so glad you have. If it's not your thing, truly no pressure at all. But if you're open to it, please don't let the moment pass. These are the photos that end up on the walls.
